Stop Smoking Cigarettes!
From a personal point of view, I detest the smell of cigarettes. It reeks badly and irritates my nasal cavity. However, after discussion with a few people who smokes; an epiphany stroked. Smokers smoke to relieve themselves from stress and also partly due to addiction towards the nicotine content. It’s true when they say; once you pop, you can’t stop. Smoking should never even be attempted as the quitting phase is mentally as well as physically challenging.
Do you know that when a person smokes, they’re releasing second-hand smoke to the surroundings? This means that whoever is beside them would also inhale the smoke that they have just expelled. The detrimental effects of smoking is that cigarette smoke contains about 1000 harmful chemicals and the expelled smoke contains about 250 still harmful chemicals. So to those non-smokers who breathed in whatever smoke that a smoker releases, he would also be harmed.
A smoker tends to have stained teeth due to cigarette smoke and bad breath. Notice how someone cringes when they are having a conversation with someone who smokes. The fact that a smoker is actually making someone uncomfortable just by talking to them is enough indication that it will cause relationship tension between couples. A non-smoker in a couple will definitely be put off by the party who smokes when they indulge in kissing. Eventually, it will cause a relationship to collapse if the non-smoker cannot tolerate anymore and the smoker refuses to stop smoking cigarettes when the non-smoker is around.
This means that smoking can affect a person’s social life with other people. It does not only refer to couple relationships but other people such as parents and employers who are non-smokers themselves. A problem for smokers to anticipate is during interview sessions with an interviewer who is a non-smoker. Since, humans tend to be judgemental; the odour that a smoker diffuses will definitely put off the interviewer. The interviewer might view the smoker as an obstacle for him to achieve the company’s full potential due to the amount of time he will be spending to smoke and also money on cigarettes.
This is actually quite an interesting fact. A male smoker is 10 times more likely to die from smoking than a female. Furthermore, male smokers also tend to be impotent and might suffer from erectile (ED) as well as low sperm count.
With so many detrimental effects of smoking portrayed here, is there any wonder why someone would still doubt to stop smoking cigarettes? Ponder on it and make the change today.

Quit Smoking With Lobelia Inflata
Lobelia Inflata is commonly referred to as ‘Indian Tobacco.’ In the past, physicians have recommended it for use as a treatment of a number of illnesses that affected the respiratory system. Today it is a common ingredient in herbal stop smoking remedies.
If you’ve been exploring methods with which to quit smoking, then you’ve probably come across the popular homeopathic herb known as Lobelia Inflata, commonly referred to as ‘Indian Tobacco.’ In the past, physicians have recommended it for use as a treatment of a number of illnesses that affected the respiratory system. Pneumonia and Asthma are two such examples. In fact, even the early Native Americans used it as a treatment for such conditions!
Lobelia eventually graduated to being used as a vomit-inducer with the goal of removing harmful substances from the human body. It is still used, even today, in other medicinal purposes such as the reduction of mucus and blockage in the nose and throat.
In Lobelia Inflata, the core active ingredient is known as Lobeline. What makes it so special? Well, it has an effect that is nearly identical to that of nicotine, the primary addictive substance in cigarettes. Lobeline has been found as a prime component of numerous homeopathic methods to quit smoking.
Fortunately, Lobelia Inflata can be safely used as long as the dosage is properly controlled. Ingesting too much of this plant may result in negative effects that would be cause for concern… starting at simple, manageable issues like dry mouth all the way to a comatose state! Luckily, Lobelia is very safe when used in combination with a variety of other herbal substances.
So, how does Lobelia help you stop smoking? Simple. It’s not addictive or dangerous, but it mimics the effects of the chemical that hooks you to cigarettes (nicotine). Replace your cigarettes with Lobelia Inflata, and you’ll gain all the benefits without the adverse results. It’s a nice way to help wean yourself out of a nicotine addiction without going crazy!
However, Lobelia is not recommended to be used as the only quit smoking technique in your arsenal. Excellent will-power and determination to quit is more important than any herbal or medicinal substance. If you evaluate why you wish to quit smoking and combine that with a substance such as Lobelia Inflata, you’ll be going into the battle well prepared and will be more likely to come out victorious.

WARNING Don’t Take Antioxidants
WARNING Don’t Take Antioxidants
Did You Know…
…that taking high doses of antioxidant supplements — such as beta carotene, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and selenium — does not reduce the risk of acquiring diseases, but has also been shown to be poisonous to the human body and may even increase the risk of death?
As long ago as the 1950s, antioxidants became known as miracle supplements because they “reportedly” promoted good health and prevented a host of diseases, including cancer
and age-related diseases. According to some estimates, approximately 50% of the adult population in the U.S. take antioxidants on a daily basis for this reason.
Here’s a wake-up call: Every long-term study involving antioxidant supplementation provides proof that people get sicker — not healthier — when they take antioxidants. In fact,
beta carotene, vitamin A, and vitamin E, taken individually or in combination with other antioxidant supplements, are associated with increased all-cause mortality. [Source: The
Journal of the American Medical Association - based on 68 randomized trials with 232,606 participants (385 publications).]
In case you were wondering … this information is not just another propaganda employed by the medical and pharmaceutical industries to prevent people from using natural
therapies, or to deceive people into thinking that drugs are the only solution to disease.
Over the last several decades, supplement manufacturers (and even health practitioners) have urged people to take large amounts of antioxidants such as Vitamin C and Vitamin
E because scientists had observed that people whose diets were rich in fruits and vegetables had a lower incidence of heart disease, diabetes, dementia, stroke and certain types of
cancer. They formed the hypothesis that since fruits and vegetables are a rich source of antioxidants (which neutralize free radicals in the body), then taking antioxidant
supplements would have the same effect.
That hypothesis has been proven wrong. Here’s why: http://scrnch.me/82ya4
Fruits and vegetables produce antioxidants for good reason — that is, to protect themselves from oxidative stress. Without antioxidants, oxygen destroys food by combining with
elements and burning them up — hence, vitamin destruction in food (or decay) occurs.
However, dietary antioxidants have virtually no nutritional benefit to the human body. Antioxidants such as ascorbic acid and tocopherols, for instance, are not essential nutrients
– and as such, they should not even be called vitamins at all.
While antioxidants serve their purpose WITHIN a fruit or vegetable, in the human body, they only disrupt normal oxidative reactions in the cell. This is why they are dangerous
to consume (except in the minute amounts ingested from food).
In summary, if you want to stave off disease and premature aging, there is no substitute to eating fruits and vegetables that are rich in antioxidants instead of taking antioxidant
supplements. http://scrnch.me/82ya4

Is There Any Evidence That The E-Cigarette Helps People To Quit Smoking?
Many smokers are turning to the e-cigarette as method of quitting smoking. However, currently, e-cigarette retailers are not permitted to advertise the e-cigarette as a smoking cessation device, until they present solid scientific evidence to the FDA that the e-cigarette can in fact help people to quit smoking. Right now, there have not been any solid scientific studies conducted in the United States on the effectiveness of the e-cigarette as a smoking cessation device.
But, there is one significant study that has been conducted, outside the United States, on the effectiveness of the e-cigarette as smoking cessation aid. In 2009, doctors in South Africa conducted a study on the e-cigarette as a smoking cessation device. The study involved 349 participants and was conducted over a eight week period. Each of the participants was given the Twisp e-cigarette. The Twisp is an e-cigarette of Dutch origin.
At the conclusion of the study, the doctors found that 45% of the participants were able to quit smoking completely, using the e-cigarette. Of the participants, 6% reported that they had quit smoking within two weeks.
Many smoking cessation devices, such as the gum or patch, typically have success rates that are lower than 30%. Accordingly, based on the results of the South African study, the e-cigarette appears to be more effective than many current smoking cessation devices.
One of the reasons why e-cigarette usage might have been so effective in helping smokers quit is because it is very close to the real act of smoking cigarettes, in addition to satisfying nicotine cravings. When asked why smoking was was so difficult to quit, 49% of the participants said it was the nicotine cravings, while 24% said it was the habit itself.
As mentioned, retailers in the United States can not advertise the e-cigarette as smoking cessation device, until reliable scientific studies have been done in the United States. Hopefully, those studies will become forthcoming soon.

Quit Smoking the Homeopathic Way
If you’ve been searching the Internet to learn about how to quit smoking, you’ve probably been exposed to a new trend of homeopathic remedies and have questioned whether or not they actually work. But how valid are the claims made by these companies? Can you really quit smoking homeopathically? You’ll find the answer is very similar to other stop smoking methods, aids, or techniques that you will run across – yes, if you have made the mental decision to actually quit smoking!
Have you ever tried to quit smoking in the past? If you answered yes, then you’re well-aware of the horrific symptoms of withdrawal that are associated with the process. Unfortunately, nicotine (the primary chemical in cigarettes responsible for an addiction) is one of the most addictive substance known to man. Receptors in your brain become accustomed to the presence of the chemical with the associated high that comes along with smoking, and later experience difficulties operating without it. This then results in a number of unpleasant nicotine withdrawal symptoms that force a large number of people who try to quit smoking to restart the habit.
Homeopathic methods often utilize readily-available herbs that mimic the effects of cigarettes without the associated risk. For example, Lobelia inflata, often known as Indian Tobacco, carries the same effects as nicotine but you will not become addicted to the herb. However, there are minor symptoms of withdrawal associated with this substance and if you have not made a strong mental decision to quit smoking, may find yourself quickly going back to traditional tobacco cigarettes. Some other examples of stop smoking herbal remedies include Smoke Away and Nicocure.
If you’ve ever read the Surgeon General’s warning on each pack of cigarettes, you know that smoking causes an immense amount of damage to your body and internal organs. Therefore, it’s best to seek a homeopathic solution that comes with additional vitamins and minerals to help your body regenerate naturally while battling your addiction to nicotine and traditional tobacco cigarettes.
In conclusion, it is clear that a homeopathic approach to quitting smoking is a very effective and beneficial method as it helps target the main reason that people turn back to smoking – the unbearable symptoms of withdrawal from nicotine.

As a smoker, have you gotten the ‘stare’ from non-smokers when you talk to them or during the time when you’re puffing on a stick of cigarette? Have you been told countless of times to quit because smoking is a sin? Everyone knows that smoking is bad but why is that so?
Well, from a scientific point of view; cigarette contains thousands of harmful chemicals and toxins that when inhaled will create significant damage to you. When you puff on a cigarette, you’re practically sending invitations to the Grim Reaper to come visit you earlier. In other words, you’re dying a slow death.
Still not convinced to quit smoking so as to optimise your life to the fullest? Do you know that 1 out of 2 lifetime smokers will die from heart diseases such as myocardial infarction? The chemicals in cigarette like nicotine and tobacco are actually stimulants that increase your heart rate and blood pressure temporarily. This actually strains your heart making it pump harder.
Moreover, if you’ve been smoking 20 cigarettes per day on average, the tar that you accumulate within your lungs is actually equal to a full cup (210g). We’re actually talking about the tar that is used to cover the roads here. The accumulation of tars reduces the efficiency of gaseous exchange in your lungs. Besides that, the chemical known as carbon monoxide has a higher tendency to be absorbed into your blood cells than oxygen. This means that the concentration of oxygen in your body will be lower and thus you’ll experience dizziness and fatigue as a result.
For those pregnant mothers, smoking during the pregnancy term will result in serious harm to the infant. The baby might be born prematurely with a low body weight and quite possibly mentally challenged. The worst case scenario for the pregnant mother who smokes would be spontaneous abortion.

Aids to Stop Smoking
For someone who is trying to quit, the withdrawals symptoms from nicotine can be severe and agonising. Most of the time, this is what causes many smokers trying to quit to fail. To ensure that you achieve your goal, maybe you can try some stop smoking aids to help you gradually quit.
The most common replacement for cigarette is the nicotine patch. Nicotine patch comforts the smoker from withdrawal symptoms as the smoker is still getting the nicotine minus the harmful cigarettes. Nicotine patch gradually releases nicotine into the body via the skin. Other nicotine replacement therapy consists of nicotine chewing gums, nicotine inhaler, nicotine lozenges and nicotine nasal spray. However, the user must follow the instructions specifically and gradually reduce the dosage of nicotine to wean off from smoking or else a re-addiction might occur.
Other stop smoking aids one can consider if one chooses to stay off from nicotine completely is to ingest in certain drugs such as bubropion hydrochloride and varenicline tartrate. These drugs do not use nicotine as the active ingredient and is considered as anti depressants. Therefore, it’s a good smoking cessation aid.
Otherwise, one can also opt for hypnosis or acupuncture for a more natural way to quit and as a replacement for cigarette. Hypnosis creates an altered state of mind in someone where they readily accept suggestion from another party. However, hypnosis is not for everyone. Acupuncture on the other hand targets specific spots in the skin to treat pain or disease, so it can be used to treat addiction to nicotine as well.
One has to understand that certain side effects can be present when using certain drugs such as the nicotine patch. The user might have an itching and burning feeling when the patch is applied due to the absorption of nicotine from the patch to the body via the skin. One can also suffer from severe rash or swelling, seizures, abnormal heartbeat rhythm and difficulty in breathing. Should this condition persist, one should immediately seek medical attention because when prolonged, the side effects can be fatal.

Quit Smoking – The Easy Way
Smokers hate it when someone tells them all the detrimental effects from smoking. It’s not like they don’t know; they are clearly aware of it. However, many smokers continue on their smoking habit because of various reasons such as addiction, psychological and physiological comfort. For those who smoke, here are some effective ways to quit smoking.
So, when’s the right time to quit? Well first of all, make a list of the pros and cons from smoking. List down the pros of smoking such as stress relieve and cons such as bad breath. When the cons overrule the pros, then you would know that it’s now the right time to quit smoking. After you decide that you’re quitting for good; make a quit date which is the day you’re going to throw away all things related to smoking.
For smokers, quitting is definitely hard. So you must anticipate the trials and tribulations that you will be facing when quitting. Make a list of the reasons on why quitting is hard. For example, cigarette is an addictive drug, so try nicotine replacement patches. Remember, perseverance is the key to success.
The hardest part a smoker faces when quitting is when the craving kicks in. You can try substituting 4 nuts with shell for each cigarette you wish to puff on. Researches found that the cracking and eating of nuts mimics the same sensation as with smoking. Other ways to quit smoking is to drink a cup of herbal tea at the time you usually smoke because the procedure of brewing tea and sipping the tea slowly gives the same feeling as when one is smoking.
Sometimes, you might succumb to your cravings when you’re trying to quit. That’s okay! Some people actually failed 8 times before they finally gave up smoking. Sometimes, you might feel that you can’t do it. Try and get a close person to tell you your past achievements and the hardship you faced to achieve that success to get that added confidence within you. The point here is that perseverance is the key to success.
